ED WAIT TIME
Visitation
Ellenville Regional Hospital wants patients to have the support of their family and friends while they are in the hospital recovering from an illness. We welcome visitation and keeping the safety of our patients and staff in mind, the current visitation policy has been amended.
Effective March 14, 2022, all visitors must be either vaccinated and show proof of vaccination at arrival with appropriate identification or show results of a negative COVID 19 test completed within 72 hours of the scheduled visit. Exceptions will be granted on a case-by-case basis for End-of-Life, Pediatric, and Special Needs Patients requiring a support person. All forms of vaccination proof including the New York State Excelsior Pass will be acceptable. The visiting hours are as follows:
Emergency Department – One family member or a visitor allowed. Minors may have a parent or guardian at the bedside.
Inpatient and Sub-Acute Units – Visitation hours: 11:00am to 1:30pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm. One scheduled visitor per patient is allowed at a time.
Ambulatory Surgery – Visitor/support person can accompany the patient through registration; a visitor to wait in the lobby area per social distancing requirements and as room capacity allows. Masks worn at all times.
Setting Up Visitation – Family or visitors must call 647-6400 ext. 240 to schedule a visitation appointment. Staff will ask screening questions to ensure the safety of all and remind visitors that they must be vaccinated, bring proof of vaccination, or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test completed within 72 hours of the scheduled visit at arrival.
Once at the Hospital – Visitors are screened by Registration Staff as per COVID 19 protocols. Visitors are asked for proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test completed within 72 hours of the scheduled visit. Visitors escorted by a staff member to the patient’s room.
Visitors are requested to remain in the patient’s room throughout the visit except as directed by hospital staff to leave. Masks are mandatory.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Throughout this long pandemic, our staff continues to take care of patients and provide expert and compassionate care. We respectfully request that you recognize these dedicated professions and treat them with dignity and respect.

COVID RESOURCES
Ellenville Regional Hospital (ERH) takes the health and safety of our patients, staff and community very seriously. There are confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in New York so we want to assure you that measures are in place for protection. ERH’s Providers, Infection Control and Clinical Operations have been actively coordinating protocols with Ulster County and New York State Department of Health.
CDC guidance states that the virus is spread from person-to-person exposure between people who are in close contact with one another, within about 6 feet, and through respiratory droplets from an infected person coughing or sneezing. Symptoms include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.
The overall risk of serious illness from COVID-19 is low. Most patients with infection will experience mild upper respiratory symptoms including fever and cough. Those at greatest risk are the elderly and those with existing chronic medical conditions such as COPD, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Children who have been infected seem to experience mild upper respiratory illness or no illness at all.
ERH can administer COVID-19 testing if directed by the DOH. The tests are sent out to Wadsworth Laboratory in Albany. All clinical staff are trained to follow isolation procedures to protect themselves and the patients.
If you think you've been exposed to Coronavirus, please CALL OUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT FIRST @ (845) 647 – 6400 ext. 264 before coming to the hospital.
