Ellenville Regional Hospital Presents Innovative Outpatient COVID Program at National Conference

Ellenville, NY – Ellenville Regional Hospital (ERH) proudly represented the community at the Annual American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting, held February 12-15, 2025, in Houston, Texas. With over 16,000 physical therapists and physical therapy assistants attending nationwide, the event marked a significant gathering in the physical therapy profession.

During the conference, ERH’s team presented their pioneering Outpatient COVID Program and the innovative clinical protocols they’ve developed specifically to treat patients experiencing Long COVID. These protocols position Ellenville Regional Hospital as a national leader in effectively managing and rehabilitating individuals facing persistent COVID symptoms.

“Our presence at the APTA conference underscores our commitment to advancing healthcare through research and clinical innovation,” said Theresa Aversano, Director, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation representing ERH at the event. “We’re dedicated to sharing knowledge that improves patient outcomes nationwide.”

ERH team members also participated in several continuing education courses at the conference, including critical sessions on Long COVID, heart failure management, updated clinical practice guidelines, and medical documentation.

Looking ahead, Ellenville Regional Hospital is preparing to publish their COVID treatment protocols in the prestigious APTA Rehabilitation Journal, aiming to expand the reach and impact of their groundbreaking work.
