Ellenville, NY − 8/12/2025 − Ellenville Regional Hospital (ERH) is best known for delivering compassionate, high-quality care close to home. But it’s also a teaching hospital, helping shape the future of healthcare.
ERH maintains more than 30 affiliation agreements with colleges and training programs across the eastern United States. So far in 2025, ERH has hosted 61 students in nursing, medicine, pharmacy, therapy, and other allied health fields. These trainees work alongside ERH’s experienced doctors, nurses, and staff, gaining real-world clinical experience while bringing fresh ideas and energy into patient care.
As a teaching hospital, ERH partners with universities, colleges, and training programs to host healthcare students and residents. It offers a learning environment where seasoned professionals share their expertise, bringing the latest best practices and new energy into patient care. This role also helps attract and retain talented healthcare workers in our rural community, ensuring that patients receive the benefits of both innovation and compassionate care.
“Being a teaching hospital is part of our commitment to both excellent care and the future of healthcare,” said Steven Kelley, President & CEO of ERH. “Our patients benefit from the extra attention of caring, knowledgeable providers, and our community benefits from a strong pipeline of dedicated healthcare professionals.”
Patients may notice students or residents working alongside their care teams. These trainees are always supervised by licensed professionals, ensuring the highest quality care while contributing to the education of tomorrow’s providers.
