My heart attack was unusual in that it started in my shoulders. I had no idea that I was having a heart attack. After my heart attack, I didn’t want to exert myself because I didn’t know what to expect. The Cardiac Rehab Center at Ellenville Regional Hospital is my comfort zone. They monitor you so you can do things here you would not feel comfortable doing at home. I love the rehab staff! Karen, the PTA, is amazing. I never saw someone so focused on her patients. And the nutrition and medication classes are incredibly helpful. I am in the After Rehab Club now, continuing with my rehab. A regular gym does not have a cardiac focus. Here, I am exercising in a hospital while being monitored by the professional rehab staff. It doesn’t get any better than that!
